SharePoint online: Navigate to the Recordings folder, click the More Actions button, and choose Copy Link.Recording online: If you clicked the recording in a channel or chat to listen online, click the Copy link option at the top of the screen.Channel or chat: Find the recording in the conversation, click More Options (three dots) on the top right of it, and choose Get Link.Click More Actions for the recording and pick Copy Link. Teams app: Go to Files > Cloud storage > Recordings.Visit one of these locations to grab a copy of the link to the recording: You can copy a link to it and then share it where you please, or you send an email with the link to those you want to share it with. You have a couple of ways to share a Teams recording. Hover your cursor over the More Actions button and choose Download. Similar to the Files section of the Teams desktop app, navigate to the Recordings folder. One more spot you can download the recording from is the SharePoint website ( or OneDrive per your company’s preference). Then go to your downloads folder to obtain the file. At the top of the screen, click Download. If you click it, the recording will open in your browser. Maybe you have the channel or chat open in the app and see the recording in the conversation history. Then, head to the location for your downloads, and you should see your file. Depending on your platform and settings, you may see a notification that the file is downloading.Note: If file size is a concern, you can also see how large the recording is on the right side. When you hover your cursor over a recording, the More Actions button (three dots) will display.Open the Recordings folder on the far right to see a list of recordings.Select Files on the left side and choose your Cloud storage option to the right, such as OneDrive.If you have the Microsoft Teams desktop app open, you can download the recording easily.
You can download a recording from the Microsoft Teams app or online. Let’s walk through your options for downloading, sharing, and managing access to your Microsoft Teams recordings. And to be sure the recording is only accessed by those you select, you can manage access to it. Good on Microsoft for taking steps in that direction.Additionally, if you have team members who could not attend the meeting, you can share the recording with them so they’re in the loop. Instead, you’ll buy the device that is best for you and all your work, apps, and files can come along for the ride.
The more we see large companies like Google, Microsoft, and Apple embrace the growing viability of apps not only built on the web, but delivered via the web, the closer we get to a future where software isn’t tied down to a specific set of devices. The web is powerful and its reach is bigger than any single platform or operating system.
I love that I can install an app from Microsoft on a Chromebook without the need of an app store or any other delivery mechanism. Oh, and it will open up in its own window as well, giving way to a more native app experience.
Head to, sign in, and then you can install the app by hitting the plus sign in the right side of your URL bar or clicking Chrome’s 3-dot menu and selecting “Install Outlook.” In general, this won’t do much more than Outlook on the web did before, but installing the PWA will allow the app to be listed alongside your other apps and pinned to your tray.
